About the role
You will run the research half of the editorial programme: find the questions founders in Bangladesh are asking that nobody answers well, collect the facts and sources, keep the topic ledger, and make every article we publish verifiably true.
The blog is built to be the place founders in Bangladesh look things up and trust what they find. Trust comes from evidence and from covering what others skip — this role owns both, and grows into running the writing pipeline itself.
What you will do
- Trend and gap research: Search Console, a keyword tool, what the top-ten pages actually say, what the “People also ask” boxes ask; keep the topic ledger and score topics against our edge test.
- Collect factual material about companies, markets, regulation and public cases — with the primary source for every claim.
- Write briefs and angle notes; fact-check every URL-to-claim pair in a draft before it publishes; keep the quality log.
- Coordinate covers and diagrams with the designer; propose the annual data pieces; later, run the writing pipeline under the house standards.
What we look for
Required
- Writing in clear English (Bangla a plus) that a founder finishes, and an eye for a claim that needs a source.
- Research habits: primary sources over summaries, citations you have opened yourself, a note of what you could not verify.
- Comfort with spreadsheets, Search Console and a keyword tool; curiosity about how software businesses work in Bangladesh.
Useful
- A journalism, research or analyst background; SEO practice that survived a Google update; familiarity with Claude Code or another agentic tool.
Not for
- Volume content. No keyword stuffing, no paraphrased listicles, no publishing without a verified source.
How we assess
- Apply with the form: a 200–300-word critique of one of our articles, three topic proposals with a primary source each, and two writing samples. About 20 minutes plus the critique.
- A reply within five working days, yes or no, with a reason.
- One conversation of 45 minutes about your critique and the programme, including a short verify-a-claim exercise we do together.
- An offer within a week, after references.
What we offer
- A monthly salary agreed at offer; tell us your expectation in the form.
- Hybrid work from Gulshan-1, paid access to the research tools, a byline where it is earned, and the same AI-token and learning budgets as engineering.
